Default Reaper is destroys . PLEASE HELP

I've attached a video showing the sounds it's making. I do not know what Is wrong with it. It could be my computer, I have an Asus tower with 12 gigs of ram, a 3.5ghz i73770k. I have installed and re-installed reaper 4 times now.as well as restarted my comp twice in between. I own the product key. I've attached a link to a youtube video so you can hear whats going on. It happens no matter what audio I run through it. I've recorded mics using an m-audio fast track to a 57. tried playing a midi keyboard through it. same result once i applied the instrument to it.It also stops sending audio to the output once Once i disconnect any output source. i.e. stereo, two types of headphones. The program will not play any audio anymore. and the play head is frozen in place. I bounced the audio out (at the same sample and bit rate it came in at) and it was completley fine. No artifacts no nothing. I can play any other audio source on my computer and it sounds perfect in headphones. (games youtube spotify, downloaded .wav files) pls help

Thanks,
Blake

Very likely not a problem of Reaper's but of the environment such as "sound card", drivers, programs running in parallel, Windows setup, some hardware problem, ...

Could you provide more details of your setup please?

You mention the M-Audio Fast Track. Are you using the correct drivers for that?

Yes I am, I think I’ve narrowed it down to a sound card im issue. Using it to monitor what was in the program I could hear it fine. As well as any other sound audio source. The weird thing is though, I can listen to any other source of audio and it doesn’t do that at all. Do you think it’s a sound card issue?

Are you using the ASIO driver within REAPER?

What you have to remember is that REAPER will place more demands on your audio interface than any other media player on your system.

REAPER has to be able to play back audio as well as recording whereas media players do not.

Yes I am using the ASIO driver. Also the issue is not with the interface. I’m trying to get reaper to play audio out of my computer’s headphone jack. Not out of another interface. And then I did play audio from reaper out of the interface it came out fine.

I am no longer going to reply to this topic in the bugs forum as this is "operator error" and not a bug.

The issue was sorted in the general forum. Why bump this one back to the top?
