LCS_Reaction_Dark
LCS_Reaction_Dark
Available now on Stash
This mod is based on Reaction by Silent
He indicated he was OK with people modding the theme and originally planned to post the theme to stash, but it was too big.
See post #1132 of his theme thread.
Thanks to metamorphosis for providing a mostly untouched version of the original layouts and images.
Thanks to Pri3s7 for pointing the way with his dark mod of the theme
INSTRUCTIONS:
put the ReaperThemZip file in your Color Themes folder or drag and drop the theme on an open Reaper window.
DETAILS:
- I used many of Pri3s7's theme tweaks, but used the original images and layouts as a starting point and built from there
- edited the original images to make them darker, changed some buttons
- reworked the layouts and added additional layouts
MCP LAYOUTS:
------------
DEFAULT - similar to Default but better flexibility
NARROW - narrow version of the DEFAULT
WIDE - wider version of the DEFAULT
INSPECTOR - large layout with large buttons meant to be used in an inspector style view
METER - big meter with minimal controls and no FX
METER STRIP - Meter layout in strip format
SEPARATOR - wide or thin blank layouts for making space between tracks. Has the track label so it can also be used to signal the start of a group of tracks.
SEPARATOR FOLDER - wide or thin layouts with a 'folder tab' style and label to be used help mark off sections
SIDEBAR - wide and narrow layouts with FX list along the right side
STRIP - choose between more controls or larger label area
THREEFORCE - legacy layout. pretty much left this alone except to make it darker to match the other layouts
MCP MASTER LAYOUTS:
------------------
DEFAULT - matches default MCP layout
BIG METER - big meter with volume knob instead of a fader and no immediate pan control
INSPECTOR - style as MCP Inspector layout
TCP LAYOUTS:
------------------
DEFAULT - main TCP layout
LONG NAME - matches default TCP layout, except buttons are lowered to allow for name label to keep stretching to the right.
LONG METER - Long Meter above Volume
BIG METER - has expandable meter.
BASIC - no Vol, Pan or main FX
MINIMAL - only has recarm, label, folder, Mute, Solo, TrackIDX and FolderComp buttons
SEPARATOR - blank layout for making space between tracks. Has the track label so it can also be used to signal the start of a group of tracks.
SEPARATOR FOLDER - layout with a 'folder tab' style and label to be used help mark off sections
NOTE: all fader layouts have a blue, green, red or yellow fader version available
UPDATE: 8/18/2019
- fixed a volume label issue on the Threeforce layout
see screenshots below:

Fantastic!
Very small faders but I found ones that fit better and bit bigger. Gonna take time fix all, with different colors both in mcp and tcp.
Mixer Layouts: Threeforce: Volume number (dB) could adjust a tiny bit to the left. The zero at the most right is half the size.
Found a new favorite theme. You are the best

I like the small faders, especally when you mix in the different colors, but if you found ones you like better, go for it.
Modifying it to your liking is always the best way!

Ahh.. Good catch!.
Honestly, I never touched the coding on that layout, it just there for legacy purposes.
Must be a bug in the original. I'll take a look later and fix it.
Thanks for the heads up!

Unfortunately, I really like the little faders, so I won't be making any changes with them at this point.
You can try using the faders from LCS_reFraction.
It should just a straight-forward PNG file replacement, no coding or or adjustments should be needed.

Wow, great theme, thanks. Mahina is oriented toward a different crowd with its 3D look.
The text color in for displaying note pitch in the MIDI Editor is difficult to read.

Correct, was referring to ease of use for a newb such as myself.
Used this theme all of last night, and I'm finding out @Lucas_LCS, is the man.
If you were to look at my version of Reaper, all the themes I've actually held onto are all from this developer, keep up the great work bro, I certainly appreciate it.

You're welcome!
Glad you're enjoying them.
I must point out that Silent's original Reaction theme was very good to start with.

In the MIDI editor, when the note color is pitch or channel.
You barely can see the note name because of the contrast.

+1, same
(besides X-Raym's Analog and Inquasar DarkMatter, which are also some of my favorites)

Found it.
Unfortunately, it's tide to the Timeline text, so I can can only adjust it a little to get a workable compromise between them:
Let me know if that's OK and I'll upload the change to Stash.

Sorry, just read your post again and my previous post does not appear to address this.
Please post a screenshot so I can clearly see what the issue is.

Hi,
Would it be a hard job tog add a new tcp layout as in Analog 1.8 called "Redused". I love that layout with minimal trackview but having the volume fader visible.
...and how did you manage to color "Separator Folders..." layouts? I try but nothing happens, still default colors.
Love this theme. Nice colors for me WHO is colorblind.

Shouldn't be too hard.
copy the default TCP layout and call it Reduced
comment out the following lines witha semi-colon
Example:
; set tcp.recmode
; set tcp.recinput
; set tcp.phase
you will need to adjust the length of the TCP label or the length and starting position of the tcp.volume fader.

Navigate to the to the following:
Options/Preferences/Track Control Panels/
make sure the following option is checked:
Set track label background to custom colors
