Questions about the Peak data
I am writing a lua script to look at and display the Peak and Sample data for investigating and learning.
I have questions about the peak data; have done a lot of searching without success. Kindly point me to it if it exists.
The maximum and minimum peaks look like sine waves one above the other. I get they are mip-maps for graphics presentation purposes (still trying to get my head around mip-maps). I am assuming they form a wave imposed upon a wave; I should be plotting from maximum to minimum, to maximum, etc. Correct?
Spectral - this looks like pitch/frequency data? Incorrect, error on my part->Seems it is 2 octaves high, although I am still looking at that. The setting of extra_type to 115 ("s") for spectral. Are there other settings?
Tonality. My limited reading knowledge on tonality for a sound is it is a collection of fundamental and harmonics. I get it that it is probably more complicated than that. What exactly is the single tonality magnitude for each peak? Trying to figure out what it reveals.
Does not appear there is any other information to get from the Peaks?
Thanks!
