Default New song - "

Gack. I fat-fingered the post, and now I can't fix the title

Anyway, I'd like to get some feedback on the mix for a new song (Puzzle Pieces). It's basically a slowish, guitar-based groove... maybe 70's style. I want it reverby, but maybe it's too much.

The bongo things in it, not sure if I have that right but they sound like it, to me seem a little loud.

I like how you have done the guitars. If it were me and I'm no professional, I would drop the reverb on the vocal a bit. The vocals off to the right seems a little disconcerting to me. They are a bit sharp in some parts, that may be the reverb though.

I really like the guitars though! It's a nice song.

Thanks for the helpful feedback. I can drop the reverb on the background vocals a bit.

The two rhythm guitars were recorded off my amp using 2 mics (stereo for each track). The lead guitar was DI through Kuassa Vermillion VST amp.

I agree with Cranky Emu that the percussion is a bit loud -- I didn't notice it so much until the 50 second mark or so -- and then it sounded like the transients were being clipped. The vocal reverb in the right ear had me checking to see if I had my phones plugged in correctly. I found myself wishing for a proper snare sound on the drums -- I know, it's probably a useless personal thing, just thought I'd mention it.

I like the guitar sound and the progression. Cool song! Nice singing. Best of luck you with this!
