Yep, they work great and that's what I've been using all along.
But... I like having a track inspector for the selected track to the left of TCP, primarily for quick visibility and access to track fx, but also for a quick view of a larger meter and fader right where my eyes are focused. It also allows for TCP-area FX Parameter controls w/out having to expand the selected track's TCP to see them.
I work on a 50" 4k screen so my real-estate is massive (w/out the need for any up-scaling silliness). I have plenty of room for a docked mixer which I like to see at all times (top of screen), but the addition of more mixer windows would allow for a track inspector w/out having to use a script (which can cause minor performance and other issues from my experience).

I wish... but it's just a quick and dirty mock-up.

if you have multiple monitors, there is plenty of space to have two MCPs at the same time. For example one full MCP in one monitor, and a second MCP with only the VCA masters for example on a third monitor to always have VCA masters at hand.

Each would have its own track-vis column in the track list.

Multiple dockable TCPs may be a solution for oft-requested sticky tracks.
With, and w/out additional Ruler:

It would be a total eye-chart... Ideally tracks could be dragged/dropped to different TCPs, and allow shortcuts (e.g. Alt+Shift+3 Move selected tracks to TCP 3).

I just found this thread and the fairly recent responses indicate this has not been implemented, correct?
Either a dedicated Inspector that could be hidden or shown, or the ability to open a 2nd MCP (or multiple instances) to do the same in the absence of any Inspector.
How does one "vote" for a feature - maybe I'll be the vote that puts it over the threshold (breath not being held).

The voting system is deprecated because the devs seemed to think it was creating a false sense of expectation (votes don't actually decide what gets implemented). You can toggle the mixer between docked (one track wide) and full floating mixer for a pseudo-inspector view, which is what I do for now. There's also a dedicated Inspector script.

FR like this https://forum.cockos.com/project.php?issueid=4077 have been around for some time now, but it doesn't seem to take enough momentum to get any action from devs so...

A Second and Totally Independent Mixer would be really usefull also here.
I can imagine a lot of combinations for faster workflow when recording or mixing making screensets, mixer options and track layout combinations

+1 from me, too. I use the mixer as a kind of detailed view for tracks (one at at time, and always visible), so I can't use the mixer for anything else right now.

Mmmh ... this is a very old thread. And ... I
doubt that this will be realized.
The reason is: Reaper already has a very good
system for managing and recalling an MCP-view.
This system are the "track views".
Also there are many ways to manage the "mixer
view panel" already.

+1 at least two mixer view windows in this dual+ monitor age we're living in.
Maybe an option once you open the first floating mixer you could right at the top of the window and select split mixer view. It would then open a small dialog box to where you could pick multiple mixer windows, track start - end, per window.
That way you could say have a mixer window with tracks 1-24 up in one monitor and tracks 25-whatever up in a second etc.

Let me bump this!
I also think a second mixer would help a lot of people. I understand, that many don't see the sense, but it is there for obviously quite many people.

+1 in October 2020.
one window can be used as a track inspector, the other as a mixer. For me, this would give me a better organization of my workspace.

I'm using screensets after I tried the Heda Track Inspector and FX List scripts, but a real track inspector or at least a second mixer window (that doesn't scroll to the right, when dragging fx or Routing) would be so useful.

Yes, you can actually use the "track-views"-screen-sets to open additional
mixer views. Strictly speaking, even 10 different, because there are 10
different track views.
That means: There are already different mixer-views!
But unfortunately, and that's a shame, track views can only be updated
with great difficulty when adding new tracks. There is already a
"feature request" here.

Heda's Track Inspector does an excellent job as a "Track Inspector"
Using it will more that fit your needs, it does more than Reapers own mixer.

I guess, some of us just need a simple and clearly designed track inspector (that fits with the rest of the Theme) to get a quick and easy overview of inserts, sends, routings and levels (As in Logic or Cubase). Unfortunately, this is not possible with the current (pretty overloaded) design of the Heda Track Inspector. I bought it and I tried to tweak it as much as I can, but unfortunately it's far from comfortable, also there are no themes. No hate, it's great work but it simply feels like a workaround.

Osc on an old phone makes a great track inspector/transport control. But id still like more simultaneous mixer views.

Thank you for the support and the feedback. It is possible to configure Track Inspector and show/hide any element of it. And it also supports themes. you can change colors, fonts, and images to match your REAPER theme. The new version TI 2 has even more customization features and easy dragging of panels, and hiding of more elements.
here is an example of a more minimal instance with plugins and sends and meters only for example.
You can configure different instances of TI to load different configurations. So you can have one for full controls, and one for minimal inspector. But this has given me an idea to have a menu to quickly switch between TI configurations so that users could even share configuration files for easy configuration loading. Thank you !
