Default CPU RT overloading (NO BUG)

If ARM enabled CPU RT load grows up. See video for details

Same reaction when play items from Project Bay/Media items
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...8.45.05.02.mp4

I test it with 3 devices: Intel i7 2600 desktop, AMD FX 8320 desktop and Intel Atom tablet PC with native and thirt party VSTs. Please fix it

Not a bug.

What you can try: Move the plugins from the Master channel to a folder track. Might "fix" it.

Freezing tracks should help too.

Did you seen the video? This is not low performance cpu problem! Project plays fine with very low load if no tracks ARMed.

I have made some tests. I add track add ReaComp and ReaEQ. then I add two tracks. One with ReaGate and another with ReaXComp. Then I send from track 1 to track 2, and from track 1 to track 3. CPU RT load is 1.1%. I ARM 1st track. CPU RT load now 19.5%. If i play without any tracks ARMed, the load is about 1%. If ARMed - >19% And it is not bug?! It is big problem!

That's how REAPER works. Not a bug. Search the forum for Anticipative processing ...

Do you have "Allow live FX multiprocessing" (Preferences/Audio/Buffering) enabled?

Holy shit that is LOUD!

My ears are ringing.

Are you using WASAPI because you dont have a "proper" audio MIDI interface?
Suspect the answer lies in DStructs comments though.
And the mere fact that you are arming tracks with plugs in them is gonna affect your cpu consumption.
What exactly is the Reaper performance meter showing under this test?
Should be pretty easy to spot exactly WHERE the increased load is coming from and when in the procedure.

I use it to record video vith audio. This problem with ASIO too.

If I put Audio or VSTi on this track all will be fine, if I arm this track CPU RT overload, but CPU consumption will same.

Did you try DStructs suggestion yet?

Also, what do YOU mean by ARM? I hate three letter acronyms & I think we may be interpreting ARM differently.

Unarmed tracks are getting rendered ahead (see Preferences/Audio/Buffering). Armed tracks can't do this so realtime CPU usage goes up.

You can also make sure "Live FX multiprocessing" is enabled, which will help use more cores for RT processing...
