Default Edit while recording

hey guys,
I'd love being able to edit the currently recorded media items. This is possible e.g. in sequoia. I know the workaround this guy is doing:

but it would be really nice if we could have it in one project.

bump. Sequoia and Samplitude can do that. It's such a cool feature when doing long recordings as live-recordings, where you could edit pauses, applause, cut the pauses out of brass tracks where they don't play, spread the passages of different solo-vocalists in choir concerts to separate tracks for each singer, etc etc. instead of just sitting and waiting until the concert is over to start working ...

Yep I know that video but that doesnt work for the examples I gave above as it's destructive decisions you make using that method (you can't expand the clips you cut wrong e.g.)

Works better with the second example but it's annoying having to expand the files all the time. Especially if you have multitrack recordings going on where you cut out tom hits for example. You always have to make sure not to trim the rightmost part of the item to be able to expand it as it is recording.

It's a firsz workaround but no solution.
