Default [6.47] - Media Explorer - «Add user column» in metadata fields is not working

-Open the media explorer
-Select any audio file
-Right-click the metadata field's bar
-select «add user column»
-input a user-column name and description

Expectation:
the new user-column's name displays in the list

What happens:
nothing

See the following gif for demonstration:

The key field has to match a supported metadata key type, which will look something like ID3:TSRC, IXML:SCENE, etc, as per the dialog. Open the project render metadata window, choose a specific scheme (not "Common"), and look at the ID column. Those are the supported metadata keys. For example, ID3 has the key TCOM for composer, you could add that one to the media explorer by entering ID3:TCOM as the key.

Media file metadata is, unfortunately, kind of a technical mess. Different file formats support different metadata schemes, and there's no generic way to say "I want to add metadata for instrument type to all of my media."

You could use the "custom tags" field, but you only get one column for that. We'll think about whether it makes sense to support multiple custom tags fields with different, user-defined names.
