Default Is rendering in reaper lossless?

It's a newbie question but I was just wondering, like if I record at 44.1/24 or use loops at 44.1/24, (or a combination recordings with loops, and I render at the same setting as when I went in, is there any information lost or altered at all, each time I render? I was curious because I started with a drum loop, edited it, rendered/saved the result, got a couple of ideas, loaded it back in to a new project , did the same thing, a few times, chopped it up a little, render, got an idea, loaded it, several times like that. . Just making sure I'm not losing quality I know I should have just opened up the saved project but I didn't

If you render as a WAV at 44.1/24, it is lossless.

If you render as an MP3, it's a different story.

You may want to render to 32-bit floating point or 64-bit floating point depending on what your mixer settings are to be truly lossless.

Just because your record setting is 24-bit, doesn't mix your mix is happening at 24-bit.

Check out this free plugin and put it on your master fader to see the true bit-depth of what you having going on in REAPER:

I'm willing to bet that if any audio processing whatsoever is happening in your session, more than 24-bit is being used.

Render to the same sample rate as your session, and whatever bit-depth the mix engine is working at (32-bit floating point or 64-bit floating point).

This is the setting I'm referring to:
