One chord in the middle that I'm not sure of, but otherwise I'm hearing:

E5, G, A, C, A5, Bb-5(???), E5

In the middle chord, I definitely hear the Bb and the D above it, but it's quite distorted, and I don't hear the F that would make it a simple Bb triad, and instead kind-of sort-of hear an E on the top of that chord making it possibly a diminished 5th

On the surface its just Em-G-A-C with some tonal variation added by the other guitar walking intervals of those same chords *down* (very classic old school move btw). You could potentially extrapolate those into more complex chords but likely not necessary since it's more inversion based and the combination of several guitars.

If you were to play this on acoustic for example and sing along, Em-G-A-C is where you should start and very likely exactly how it was originally written with the texturing of those same basic chords expanded later - once the entire band began playing it and looking for space to exist sonically. To drive this home some of the Foo Fighter magic is in their implied inversions and voicings of generally simple progressions with the occasional 'add' or 'sus' style interval thrown in on top.

STP did the same thing but their chords were typically more complex across the board depending. Their guitar player (STP) had a knack for being able to use more complex voicings that are normally difficult to sound good when distorted.

Ha ha, playing along with the video, what seemed to fit for me is something like this:

Em, G, A7, C, A, Bb6 or Gm/Bb, E

EDIT: Heh, heh, what do you think read, is that our little music lesson for the day?

That D is not possible because the bass goes to G instead of F#. It's also not an Am, that isn't possible either because there is a C# there which is the major third of A. That single note or octave walking down on the right is your big clue. The A7 works for the first A but again....

These chords, or rather some of the interpretations are a result of more than one instrument playing. Tod's still sounds closest and makes the most sense against the melody line, nice job Tod. Except I think the last chord (2:51) sounds a little C7ish with a potential add9.

FYI, I used a C7 where I mentioned, pretty sure that's what it is now. Keep at it read, I really like your interest and zeal in music.
