dragging in video window linked to parameters is AMAZING!
until I read the 5.97 changelog yesterday I couldn't figure out how to use the MIDI learn for video in the previous betas.
How to: right-click in video window and enable sending MIDI CCs touch a video processor parameter, go to param menu and learn right-click in the text box (double-right click on mac) and pick drag X, Y, mousewheel, or horizontal wheel. I use the option to only link when the item or track is selected. it is now significantly faster to automate zoom and pan for my videos. Thank you Justin, very cool!

How does it help? Does it allow to change a - lets say the zoom - parameter with the mouse wheel? Don't get it right now. But it feels like there is something cool hidden in your post.

let's say you have text you want aligned to a certain point on the screen. You can now drag it directly on the video window instead of fiddling with the X and Y parameters.

Just saw your video on youtube! Amazing Feature! And again a great video from you which helps a lot to get an overview.
Many thanks, Jon. And of course there goes also many thanks to Justin who did all those great video features and fixes against a good amount of crying forum people who seem to don't want video in the first place.

You don't need to double-right-click, you can just right click outside the text-box...

you might be right about that.
i thought it had to be in the text box for some reason slightly different topic, I noticed that some VST3 plugins have a special menu when right-clicking. Could we get this for video processor and other built-in plugins?

ok one small nitpick about this workflow
I feel like the control should follow the selected step size in the video script. I'm ending up with ugly small gaps or 1 px overlaps because of this. let's say I have the x position param set to move in 2px steps, dragging in the video window makes it move in 0.0001px steps

I can't get this to work. I got as far as right-clicking in the MIDI/OSC Learn window. Single-clicking in the text box gets the "spelling and grammar, substitutions, speech" menu, as in the video at 20:11. Double-clicking just makes that menu go away. No matter how fast or slow I double-click. So I can't get to "video window drag X". I'm running OSX 10.13.6 and Reaper 6.12.

Yes, "Send MIDI CC control messages..." is checked.
I tried this on another, older macbook and it worked. I could get past the first menu by double-clicking. Unfortunately that macbook is too old to do video.

so right-click in the window (not the text box) doesn't pop up the option?

posted this elsewhere, and then realized this is probably a better place...
How can I save the mousex, y mappings so that they are mapped whenever I open my video processor Edit: Had a crash, didn't think this sent... Is there a way to copy these settings to another project? I've been able to drag copy the item fx to another item, but I'd like to make them more permanent. But when I just open another instance of that video processor preset, nothing is mapped. I guess I could put a dummy item with the fx on it, and make it part of my startup template, but surely there is a better way? Any tips welcome, thanks!!
