Given how far REAPER has come since then, it would certainly be rather basic by today's standards, but for someone with little experience of DAWs it could prove useful.

Where can you get it? That's harder. AFAIK Cengage are in administration. Second hand copies are sometimes available on sites like Amazon and AbeBooks, but because it's out of print the price gouging can be outrageous, believe it or not up to $500!

There's an honest dealer in Australia that still has a few copies but I doubt that's any good for you:

No, the publisher isn't functioning, but they still hold the copyright.
