Default Can I change the tempo of prerecorded music?

I sing to prerecorded music. The current song I am working on is 'Somewhere' from Barbra Streisand, if you play her version, you will notice that the first two words of the song that she holds them for a moment.

In the version I sing to is going by too fast, I would like to slow down just that first part of the song so I can hold the first few notes of the song?

If so, I would be grateful if someone can either point to a video on YouTube, or, provide me with search word suggestion I can to hopefully find what I am looking for

Have a look at using Stretch Markers: https://www.reaper.fm/videos.php#AqsIBFjcM_4

WOW! I watched that video and it is pretty cool that it does that!

I am a total newbie to REAPER and it constantly amazes me of all the cool things it can do!

I like to sing karaoke, and all I wanted was a cool way to record my music! And BOY! This software has opened up a whole new world for me!

When I was talking to a guy I know at my local music store he mentioned it. What surprises me is the price!

Thanks again for the referral to this video!
