sudo update-initramfs -u sudo update-grub I have no idea how to do that exactly without destroy something here ... Code:

because of the kernel ... there is just one question left
should I keep the default manjaro 4.19.13-1-MANJARO #1 SMP PREEMPT kernel or better choose a RT kernel? I guess the default manjaro PREEMPT is mostly similar to the 4.19.0-14.1-liquorix-amd64 #1 ZEN SMP PREEMPT so it is already a low-latency kernel ... right?

I have a laptop and a desktop machine. Both are running Arch. On the laptop, although I tried all kinds of tweaks xruns only stopped after installing the rt-lts kernel. On the desktop I'm running the standard kernel and I get no xruns at all (I do have threadirqs enabled there but have done nothing else) This experience suggests to me that a particular hardware configuration has a much bigger effect than most of the little tweaks and hacks we all seem to be so fond of ;-) |
