maybe too customizeable

today i started a fun synth groove and was just enjoying the sound when i thought about customizing my tool bar adding an icon for count in, then i mapped a keyboard command to togle it. a couple more minutes of playing with the groove and i thought to make a custom action to toggle record modes so i can use a keyboard shortcut to switch between monitoring and recording, then i tweaked myshortcut for midi overdub. now i got burned out on the loop i was noodling with but not on custom action creation:-)

Haha, that's a funny story as I would bet that a lot of people experience the same every time they open Reaper.

like AAA it uses a 12 Step program, but with Reascale you can tweak what the steps are...

It's easy to get carried away, but one day you will find you have no more ideas for tweaking. Only took me ten years, lol.

Best advice about this comes from yep's "why do your recordings sound like ass" thread. I'm paraphrasing, but basically, when you encounter non-critical issues while working, simply write yourself a reminder to take care of it later. Don't let it be a distraction. I have to make Reaper fullscreen to avoid my habit of opening a browser and falling down that wormhole...
