Which actions exactly don't work for you? Those I tried all do what they are supposed to.

Or maybe there's something else necessary to reproduce the problem, in addition to "Project synced" mode.
Is there anything else special with the situation you are in? Maybe it helps to upload a project file that shows the problem for you, and name some actions which don't work with that project for you.

Default situation

Hi gofer!
This situation described in manual:
12.42 Working with Piano Roll Synced to Project Arrange View.
just in that mode MidiEditor window switch to another appearance, exactly like the picture - no menu, no actions, all my preprogrammed actions from my hardware controller don't working till then I unattach Midi Editor Window from docker,
are you confirm it?

Default Confirmed

Aha! Hardware controller! It's about actions triggered by MIDI input, that was the missing bit of info.
Actually, I cannot get any action to work by triggering via MIDI in a docked MIDI editor. This is not only in synced mode, but in any of these "view timebase" modes. Keywords are "docked editor" and "MIDI triggered actions".

To recreate:
  • - Assign for example "Edit: Move notes down one semitone" to any key on your MIDI keyboard (that MIDI port needs to be "enabled for control" in preferences, obviously) - or, if you have some buttons/knobs/faders available on a MIDI hardware controller, you can use that, of course
  • - Open a MIDI editor with an item and create a note to select
  • - make sure the editor is not docked and hit the key (or whatever MIDI message) you just assigned
=> the selected MIDI note should move down if you've done everything right
  • - Now dock the MIDI editor
=> expected: Note moves as the key is triggered
=> actual result: Note doesn't move

I tried several actions and several control methods (notes, CC, absolute/relative, whathaveyou). It seems as if a docked MIDI editor doesn't get any messages from the MIDI control path.

I'll move this thread into the Bug Report forum and change the title, if you don't mind.
