Default Reapeaks file name hash

Pardon if this question has been answered before, but at least google failed to dig it up if so.
I'm trying to figure out how the hashed file name for reapeaks files is generated when files are placed in an "alternate cache folder". It seems to be a sha1 hash of _something_, which I at first thought to be simply the original file name. This does not seem to be the case though.

I do realize that there is a plug-in function get a peaks path, but I would like to be able to emulate the hashing scheme outside of reaper (for the TX16Wx, which uses reapeaks format for waveform caches).

Any info appreciated.
Cheers
/C

Default

For reference: it is a SHA-1 hash of the full filename, in lowercase (i.e. tolower() each byte in a UTF-8 string of the filename).
