Auto stop recording

Hi, I'm in the process of recording some tapes and would like reaper to stop recording when the tapes run out. When I try to do this with punch in the recording dont stop (the item can be dragged further than the marquee selection). How do I stop that from happening?

Any ideas how this also could be done is also appreciated.

if have sws extension that allows 'action markers' so can drop a marker and rename it to !1060 (thats a guess - the action list has command IDs on the right hand side)
and it'll stop or whatever you want.
