No, there is no way to do this, but it could be a nice that we can save or export Reaper project in cubase file or even better import cubase/nuendo projects in Reaper.

Importing from other programs: OK.
But why you want to change from Reaper to Cubase by exporting something? And why should a developer support that change??

I agree as far as the Cubase file format. There's no reason why Cockos would or should support that.

OMF however is another story.

Yes it does. You don't do it with "Save as", you do it via an export. It works well. I use it fairly often to transport projects to my buddy's studio

Well: I would like to see a feature to export to cubase, or at least to something that can be opened by cubase as well. Cause I also like to compose on my 'entertainment pc' which has reaper. But on the other computer where all my plugins are on, i've got cubase .

Well the REAPER developers once said they'd look into supporting specific formats if anyone would provide them with the needed specifications (at least afair). But Steinberg doesn't give away file specifications as far as I know.

IMHO it's a horrible idea, the amount of time spent supporting it would surely not be worthwhile. Reaper has lot's of features Cubase doesn't, it may have to substantially alter a project file in order to convert it. If memory serves, Cubase does support exporting projects as XML files, but I fail to see why implementing this should be a priority, I'd rather the dev team spend their time creating even more bleeding edge features that Cubase doesn't have.

Nope. At first glance it just looks like a standard RIFF file.

Can Cubase import standard EDL? Reaper can export that, although it's a limited format as far as DAW work goes(no MIDI etc...).

You can use Vegas to import *.edl (.txt) and export *.aaf, which now can be imported by cubase. voila.

As someone with years of Cubase/Nuendo projects, I'm much more interested in importing from Cubase.

Last year when I first switched to Reaper, I spent about a month converting old projects over and it was soo tedious, time consuming and frustrating that I'm still scarred from it.

OMF support would really be helpful in this regard.

Also while I doubt supporting Cubase project files is practical, perhaps it would be possible to support the mixer settings file?
