Just D/Ld that. I have a GAP 73 pre so this could be fun!
Also wondering about Softube's take on the Drawmer mastering compressor at 34 bux.

For those who don't have enough MIDI drum files, The Loop Loft is selling their entire MIDI library for $96 USD.
Mighty tempting.

Two great VSTis that people might overlook :
Chromaphone 2 for $89 (reduced from $199 ... upgrade from 1 for $19 ... soundbanks also half price)
TAL Sampler for €37 (40% off this and all TAL products)

I'm looking for a reverb, have only been using free stuff so far. Trying to avoid iLok key auth. Came across an Acon Digital sale and their Verberate looks good at $29. Their deverb and restoration tools look like great deals, too, if you are doing that kind of production.
https://www.pluginboutique.com/deals/show?sale_id=3575
Any other reverbs on sale worth looking at? I'm primarily doing guitar and vocals at the moment, so need sweet and natural, nothing over the top.

I think the free OrilRiver is hard to beat. It does a pretty fine job not only in terms of time but also of space. Liquidsonics maybe ? Reverbate 2 doesn't need iLok, but the Bricasti simulator seems to need it.

Tell me what you think and how it compares to what you've tried so far.
Great results can be had, in my opinion, by mixing TWO reverbs in parallel. For instance OrilRiver and Sanford Reverb in parallel. I would love to hear your feedback on your guitar+voice with this technique.

Got the trial and ran it on some of my existing vocals last night. I think it will be joining the GAP73!
Get their free ones while you are there Dave - interesting stuff.

Yes, I purchased the SoundToys 5 bundle the same way. I had never actually purchased any ST plugins before. I only took advantage of the freebies (their Little.XXXX plugins) and registered them. Come to find out that even with just the freebies in my account I was eligible for the BF 50% discount upgrade ($249) price and further reduced by the amount of those registered freebies I had (3 in my account). So basically, even though I had never paid a dime for a previous ST plugin, I was able to get the entire ST plugin catalog (20 plugins) for $145 ($7.25 per plugin) or 71% off of the regular $499 price.
I am quite happy with my BF deal!

OrilRiver sounded pretty good. Its Dim. Expander presets actually do a nice job of widening the stereo field gently. I also downloaded the Acon Digital Verberate demo and tried that in parallel per your suggestion. Both, like other algorithmic reverbs I've tried so far, sound "digital" in isolation (especially the tails), though one doesn't hear those artifacts when blended in at the low levels one actually uses. I'm going to check out demos of some of the pricier algorithmic reverbs and see if they sound as unnatural.
The parallel reverbs is an interesting idea; I'd expect blending to help hide those digital artifacts and smooth things out. I'll play around a bit with that and see if I can find a sweet spot. You send your source tracks to two separate aux tracks, each with an instance of a different reverb- correct?

BerkeleyBernie,
If you want an algo reverb Soundtube TSAR-1R is currently on offer. It's a cut down version of a premium plug using the identical sound engine of TSAR-1 just with less settings for fine tuning and less presets.
If you want an algo to sound naturalistic (more strictly realistic -as opposed to merely beautiful- than nearly all hardware reverbs) it is a very good choice. Indeed TSAR-1R gives you the best of TSAR anyway.
Also get U-HE Protoverb for free and play with the settings, if room realism is the goal.

Still getting very tempted by the Seventh Heaven basic plugin at 49 dollars, but I could buy VVV for the same price and cant really afford either at the moment! @D

Very impressive. Can get some very sweet sounding spaces, can sound natural even when listening to just the wet signal. Definitely need to play with the random generators and save some of the tastier results.

Pianoteq has 30% on pro (upgrade to pro).
Kinda disappointed that there's no discount on stage
How is addictive keys compare to pianoteq?

I couldn't really get a good sound from the TSAR-1R. I got a decent verb playing with the TSAR-1, but not good enough to drop cash for it.
Going to play around and keep testing the demos and freebees, and try some convo reverbs with Reaper's default plugin.

Buy from cheapest territory anyway.

Weird, it's the same engine with no restriction in terms of quality. Maybe you should try adjusting presets to taste a bit more? TSAR and TSAR-1R is one of the best engines out there if room recreation is the goal. Combining U-HE Protoverb with Tsar-1R can be fruitful too.
Reverberate 2 is great too, but a significant commitment in downloading time and drive space. Very adjustable/flexible though.

Stage is good value anyway. Look at the free library with Errard, Pleyel and CP80 pianos, amongst others. Try the demo, see for yourself (though the free instruments are not in the demo version but you can hear demos on the site).

Yes, that's it. Thanks for your feedback. As for convolution reverbs, I would second Liquidsonics, which has probably the most advanced convolution reverb right now.

Audiofanzine especially loves the Seventh Heaven Bricasti recreation and calls it "hands down the best software reverb available today". But they fail to mention the iLok hardware dongle for this one.

Melda is 50% off so I finally own MMultiAnalyzer for $37, muy excelente.
HoRNet is 70% off their already low prices.
Also, the new Waves Bass Slapper for $29, unbelievable. It does everything that MODO Bass doesn't. Between the two I'm missing only a fretless.

Audiobro is having their biggest sale ever. You don't need full Kontakt, they work in Kontakt Player free. I've got 1st Chair and the legato scripting is really very impressive, not too reverberated either so they are nice and flexible.

Finally. NI shamelessly selling their sampler for $200 when in sales is one of the worst cases of monopoly in the industry. It's worth $69, not more.

I've got Kontakt libraries from Sonicouture, Audiobro and Sample Modelling but never bought full Kontakt (I don't need/want that many sampler instruments). The rub is that NI charge developers a hefty license fee for libraries to work in the free player.
