Trick: Fast creation of an Automation Item for Track volume.
Hi 2 all!
For people working with Automation Items, here is a trick for fast creating an Automation Item for Track Volume:

Workflow:
a) Select an Item.
b) Run the Custom Action.
Outcome:
An Automation Item for Track Volume will be created under the selected Item, with same length as selected Item.
IMPORTANT:
Can you please open Reaper Preferencces, then do a search for "focus to" ?
You will then see a setting called :
"when adding envelopes or setting visible, set the focus to the envelope"
This setting must be turned ON for the Custom Action to work properly.

how do you install this and use this?
edit: i used the actions listed in the script to make a custom action. But, I couldn't get it to work until I added "select next envelope" after insert automation item.
cool little action, I added open automation properties after that, pretty neat. thanks!

About your issue you had:
Can you please open Reaper Preferencces, then do a search for "focus to" ?
You will then see a setting called :
"when adding envelopes or setting visible, set the focus to the envelope"
I assume you have this setting turned OFF.
When you turn it ON, my original Custom Action should work ..
If you have time, maybe you could check this out and let me know :0)

I had at first the same issue as poetnprophet, but "the focus to the envelope" you remarked did the magic. It works.
Nice trick! thanks, multiple and interesting uses/ideas derived from it.

Something in your video grab my attention, how do you do that work area layout with the mcp master track on the right and audio track at left? what Cubase theme did you specifically use or maybe has that functionality included?
