Default [5.311] ReaStream is not receiving audio in Mac OS Sierra

[5.311] ReaStream is not receiving audio in Mac OS Sierra

OS: Mac OS 10.12.1 (Sierra)

Reaper: v5.311

Repro Streps:

1. Start a new project
2. Insert test media into a track
3. Insert ReaStream plugin on same track
4. Leave defaults, set it to send on "* broadcast"
5. Open new project tab
6. Insert empty track and inset ReaStream plugin, leave defaults and set it to receive
7. Ensure that the following actions are set to on "Run background projects", "Run stopped background projects"
8. Observe that no audio is received (plugin meters do not indicate received signal, monitoring/recording also confirms this.)

I've tried reproducing this with 2 separate instances of Reaper, with loopback IP address set (127.0.0.1) but still no dice.

Can anyone else confirm?

Cheers,

Harvey

ReaStream can't send to the same process, you need to run a separate instance of REAPER for it to work.

Ah, I'd been misinformed!

But alas, still does not work for me with 2 separate instances.

If someone running Sierra could confirm, not sure wether it's a local issue for me or not.

I don't think it's limited to Sierra, I think on older OS X too it won't work locally (it needs to go to a different host). Let me see if there's a workaround for this.

I just successfully tested it's possible to use 5 separate identifier ReaStream stereo sources and 5 separate identifier stereo receivers on MacOS High Sierra 10.13.6 within one project,

simultaneously streaming across network to multiple computer receivers with Windows;

great thing is those 5 stereo tracks remain in sync despite being handled by individual Reastream plugins and identifiers

what does not work is MacOS receivers on the network, any idea what needs to be adjusted?
