I noticed something about the way you have your B String over the nut
I have a habit of winding my strings on the side of the tuner pegs that enable
the string to have a straighter ride over the nut change and see/hear if
anything happens, most of the strings could do with the same treatment in my
humble opinion.

A guitar is naturally quite imperfect. It sometimes drives me nuts however. I sometimes tweak to the key I'm in. Depends on the part.

I'd like to see a video of the player in action. I honestly don't hear any issue with a B string and I'm a guitar player. A strummed instrument is naturally comprised of drone harmonics. If it were buzzing or rattling I'd be concerned.

As it is, it sounds like a bit of a heavier right hand, a heavy pick, and a mic placement issue. I hear a lot of low-mid/bass boominess that's going to affect the entire mix. Mic it up between 12/14th frets and loosen your wrist. Strum like the pick is a match you're trying to extinguish. The action doesn't come from your shoulder or elbow, it's from your wrist.

The pick shouldn't be thicker than .73. I wouldn't go above 11 gauge strings either. Coated/bronze/nickel doesn't matter. Generally dreadnaughts like that are strung with 12s, but to me that's for bluegrass or country when a strong low end is called for. Rock or pop doesn't need it. The bass is plenty in that area.

Good luck!

I had Martin strings on my guitar and the B string was off by 2 cents. Changed my strings to elixir and the B string is bang on. Get yourself a Snark tuner, the ones that you clamp on your head stock.

Brand has no relation to pitch accuracy. Age certainly does. Also a guitar is only kinda in tune. The string vibrates in and out of pitch. That's why a guitar sounds the way it does. It's not a hammered string like a piano. It's strings are nowhere near as taut as a piano either.

This is why I'm asking what in particular the OP is hearing. Is it a buzz or rattle? If not, it's just a harmonic.

A luthier would fix that guitar in 10 minutes.

I'd say its a combination of bad nut slot and poor stringing technique

I agree with Cosmic that it's most likely you need a nut repair or replacement. Go to a good repair person.

RDBOIS, I enjoyed listening to the recordings on your Youtube page. Nice songwriting, vocals, arrangements. The acoustic guitar in The Great Divide was well in tune. Was it the same guitar as is being discussed here?
