Default Groove Template for audio items (Logic pro x alike)

Hi there,

is there in repear any option to get a groove from an audio item? In logic x this is called groove template.

Let's say my shaker is playing the same pattern of the hi-hat and i would like to quantise it accordingly to the hi-hat instead of the grid/Song-BPM. In logic you can analyse the transient of the hi-hat and export it as groove. Afterwards you can import that groove (or transients) in the shaker track and align to the transient.

This is actually is something similar to vocal align, but instead of using stretch markers is more common slicing audio.

Any idea?

The implementatoin of "Groove Templates" is an old feature request,
you can find it here: "Groove Templates - poll".

There are a number of script solutions (extra scripts that have to
be installed separately) and an SWS-Tool. But these are a bit fiddly
and sometimes difficult to use.

A nice and simple native solution like in Logic Audio (simply
define Midis as groove templates) unfortunately does not exist
in Reaper. Hence my feature request.

Oh, one more little addendum:

Yes, this thread is about groove tools for audio items.
The first step before dealing with audio items is to have
groove templates for midi items.

If you have groove templates for midi items, you can
also extend to audio items.
