Default LAME MP3 render why so difficult?

I have downloaded this and that version of LAME to the folders stated and still cannot get Reaper to render MP3? Any ideas gratefully received. I am pretty new to Reaper.
Running Win 7 64bit LAME 3.99.5 8gb mem i7

You don't need that anymore...

The mp3 dll is now included within the Reaper download as the copyright (or whatever you call it) for the mp3 converter ended...

as far as I know...

At least I deleted my user plugin and I can still render mp3 as before..

Good Luck!

As far as I understand, LAME is not included in 5.40 but is included in the 5.50 prerelease.

So I suspect it will be included when 5.50 release version becomes available.

oh Yes,.you're right... I'm happily using the 5.50 Beta for some weeks now so I forgot that it is not yet officially.

@thetreehunter As you are new to REAPER and anyhow in the learning process I recommend to install the latest beta (landoleet...) and you're set. If you don't want that let me know and I send you the .dll. you just that one file at the right place...it is as easy as that

Default LAME

Yeah, I remember it being a huge hassle to get LAME installed. Never made sense to me why Cockos didn't include an MP3 converter...I'm glad to hear it will be in future updates.

It's lame finally included in Reaper 6 ???

I just checked my userplugins folder and there's no Lame file there, but Reaper renders mp3 perfectly.

Thanks ¡¡¡

Yeah. It's part of the Reaper installer (and gets installed into the Plugins folder) since v5.50
