Default notation

I wanted to use notation today, but could not find any menu item to open notation. I also looked in manual and it says alt 1, alt 2, alt 3, alt 4; they did nothing.

Does notation work or is it still non-functional.

If you customized your MIDI Editor toolbar (or View menu) and don't have that button: run the action "Mode: Notation" (MIDI Editor section).
If you don't have any of that: you're probably using an old version of REAPER.

Just to clarify ... do you have the MIDI Editor open? You can only access the Notation View from inside the MIDI Editor.

Alt 1, Alt 2, Alt 3 and Alt 4 switch between views in the MIDI Editor, Alt 4 being the notation editor.'
Or you cn just select musical notation from the View menu.

You must open the MIDI Editor before you can access Notation View.

One way to do this is to insert a track, create a new MIDI item on it, then double click on the item.

This gives youan item on which you can write your notation.
