Smile I can't install Licecap in C:

Messing around tonight with Licecap, which did not work for long on my computer (w10 64b), I surfed trought this thread and got the idea of installing it on an external HD and bang, it started to work again. Except that I have to open created GIF images with Paint app.

Is this standard procedure?
Is there a better way to install it ( I tried this business of deleting licecap.ini but it did not do much).
Thank you for your time.

C: where? You need to at minimum create a folder in C and install inside that folder because the root of C is protected by the OS for security/malware reasons. As far as opening the GIF you can open it in anything that supports animated GIFs but it will default to whatever the OS is currently set to for .GIF file types.

Er...is it not a standalone executable? I don't think it actually gets "installed" anywhere. In any case, if you're on Windows, just right click the GIF > Open as > your favorite web browser.
