41TWIN song for my Daughters 20th Birthday....
Comments on mix and song are welcomed. I will warn ahead of time that the drum sound is.... well it's just not what one might wanna hear. I was experimenting with mic placement and I let it roll. I'm sort of non conformist when it comes to feeling like everything needs to sound the BEST every time. I'm more into capturing what I did, even if it's non typical. That being said some of you do awesome jobs at making great drum recordings and other instruments. And I appreciate those very much.
Anyways... I probably can't talk my way out of this one for some of you but I was OK with it. LOL. I wanted the kinda melodic bass to drive the song...

This song is full of emotion and the lyrics are also catchy. I love the baldness and simplism. Your daughter will be very happy if she gets it. Good job, but get a better drummer ! frenq

The bass wasn't really my favorite sound, but it fit the song well. Or worked well for the song? Maybe? I don't know. Chrome flats on my CV Jazz bass, played with a pick and chorus pedal. It was reminding me of maybe an 80's pop alt rock sound. The cure. Ish... Or that was the goal. LOL.
Thanks for the compliments guys!!!! I really really appreciate it.
My kids don't really love my music. But I think she appreciated it. I can't compete with Harry Styles and Taylor Swift and Tame Impala I guess. LOL. Understandable.
hwhalen, does the next twenty go as fast as the first 20? Cuz I mean, I'm getting old....

Have nothing to say about the mix ( not my strongest side).
Lovely song and lovely lyrics. I do envy your lyrics skills.
Great work.

Thank you sir. Kids make you feel things deeply I guess. She was always such fun and so great having her around. She did get a bit more difficult as a teen. LOL. I mean, who doesn't?

Haja, the song begins lyrically with a mathematical classification
of age. Then it goes into the typical father's point of view, yeah.
Vocal melody and guitar work are really great! I enjoyed it very much
- you have a knack for beautiful melodies. And the translation into
a song is very well done.
So all thumbs up!

The next 20 were some of the best years for us as my daughter has given us 4 grandchildren, which we babysat for the first year or so of each of their lives, keeping us young. Getting old can be OK, enjoy.

hwhalen: nice. No grandkids yet. No kids married yet. We will see. Maybe someday....
msundh: thank you very much!!! I feel like I suck at lyrics. I feel like I wanna sound like a Salvatore Dali painting but then I end up more like a crossword puzzle in the paper. Or a kids short story....
enroe: thank you very much. Another dude on a site said to me, "what's with you and numbers in your songs?". I'm like: shrugs..... Didn't know it was a thing to notice... lol I guess I like numbers...
