Default Lend your ears........on (wip)mix

I thought mix 1 was decent until I heard it on a JBL Charge 3 via blue tooth, where it seemed very bass muddy.

So I tweeked it a bit to compensate and with mix 2 I think I went to far with the high end.

I think I need a mix 1.5, something inbetween the 1 and 2

I know listening to 2 mixes of the same song is a lot to ask.

Try mix 1 or flip a coin

Yeah, scoopy mix 2 IMO works better. Plus solo tone is sorta harsh and contrasts quite a bit with the rhythm guitars and the contrast is less pronounced than in the 1st mix.

Man I could go for a live version of this, esp after a cupla beers and...

A cranked "studio" version will have to do.

Yeah, V1.5 I think should do the trick, though both seem to be pumping. But the pumping sounds rhythmic, so maybe that's on purpose?

I would be stoked with a live version and a few brews as well ....

Shit,

your right there does seem to be some pumping effect(unwanted)

add that to the list of things to address or revisit when tweaking the mix

Thanks Sammy

yea I also like mix 2 (listening on my laptop with little "sub-woofers") it sounds overall better, although the highs are a little harsh.

You're alive!!! Thought you went up into the mountains brother and left civilization behind!! Good to see you're up and about..

Ok.. so WOW.. what a WALL of sound.. massive. Love those guitars. They are IN THE GROOVE. I like aspects of both of these mixes; 1 has a nice deep, low tone and #2 has some nice sheen. So - i guess i'm in the 1.5 camp..

Both mixes are humming... good job! Is Mike the guy doing the pseudo-rapping (i guess that's what you'd call it???). Mike who? lol.. He's good.. it really sounds good with this song..

The whole thing's good! Great Job! Impressed!

This song is heavy. I went through Mix 2, and found it very full and solid.

Whaaaat! I only listened to the new one (is it 3 or 1.5?).

Very impressive! Amazing groove, guitar sound and voice. YOu guys should definitely get out on stage. Where can I find more of that music?

New mix is a big improvement. Sounds awesome.

The one thing that still sticks out is the main vocal (the "fight back" one, not the distorted one). Because it's scooped and competing with full frequency of the whole band, only the high end sticks out of the mix. I'd be looking to add in some midrange grit to make it more defined in the mix. Maybe some parallel distortion, or just bringing up the midrange. It's better than in the previous mixes, but it's still just really the sibilance that is audible (it doesn't need any de-essing, just more midrange, around 1k give or take a few hundred Hz).

WoW.....Thank you !!

I suppose the "new mix" could be considered Mix 3

3 additional tracks can be heard here:

More on the way

Judders

I get what your saying
will experiment with your suggestions for sure when mixing begins for the entire project.

Still a few songs to finish tracking various things for....

Almost there

Thank you for checking it out and for the input !!!
