The best Reaper Theme?
Hi,
Can anyone tell the best Reaper theme for the eyes, I don't want anything too bright.
The best ever has to be the custom one "ASCEND" by JeffEstrada, he is still working on it however!
The best one I can find and use is LOGIC Pro Theme, all nice dark shades, and easy to navigate.
But not fantastic.
Anything white is too bright, for staring at screens all day.

I'm a fan of Default Nitpicky. I'll probably mod it myself to remove all the pastels (shudder)

Alter Ego 4.72 ftw.
Quite old, but so nice on the eyes.
Based on Cubase GUI.

Yeah, this is quite easy on the eye indeed, not as nice as Logic Pro however!

Just found the one Jeff is working on as a result of this topic. That is some very nice work!!
Shameless self plug here but if you're after a hardware based theme that is easy on the eyes for long term use, that is exactly why I created my theme. The link with the downloads and screen grabs is in my signature. It incorporates the Bob Katz K-System but there's a version without the calibration stuff if you don't need it. It is all in the same download and full instructions are included.

That's pretty sharp ReaDave. I assume the neon meters are configurable ...
I'll have to try that one out

Cheers for the feedback Bob. The meters are fully configurable for scale. There's three versions for the K-System (K12, K14 and K20) with full instructions on calibrating everything and setting up the meters.
There's a fourth theme that includes non K-System graphics so the meters can be fully configured to whatever you want.

Fusion for it's calmness, and Imperial for it's complex design.
EDIT: and of course, default v4 and v5 for their simplicity, and compatibilty between different studios.

The best REAPER theme is a moving target and probably the theme you can't get your hands on yet! B)

I know a theme might take longer to load if it has tons of layout choices, but make a system crash? Any experts know what might caused it?

Never heard that one, before. I've been using it for years with no issues.
Latest project = 66 VST/VSTi's on 50 tracks.
Win7 64.

Yeah, Imperial isn't a "load" per se. I do much prefer the LCS-Mod version though. Lucas put a lot of thought into and implemented some cool stuff like folder support in the MCP.
Of course WT's excellent foundation makes it what it is.

You know I'm w/ you 100% on that, Roberto. And that Short Dark Version is going to be handy on the ol' laptop.

I like bold contrast in the colours without eye tiring brightness. Swap between the gaudy PT theme and this one to see what I mean:
https://stash.reaper.fm/theme/1722/De...ReaperThemeZip
That's the standard 5 theme tweaked for dark theme and nice rich colour palette option on tracks.

Reaper 4 and 5 original themes and all themes with very small tracks with lot of config at same time in track panel and very clear mixer view. My personal favourite custom theme is DAGGA RMX.

I use Albert xxx Pro X-TOOLS Gold ED. V3 the most then WT Brawn Bespoke VMOD.
Paulie, Default Commala 5, Default Commala Vitalker mod, WT Imperial Black extended and LSC Mod short dark all rotate in and out though. It's great to be able to completely change up the appearance according to your mood at the moment.

My favorite is Albert's Pro Tools theme, version 2.05. Very clean and easy on the eyes.
