Default Fedora 34 Error

Afternoon,

I've been playing around with the latest fedora (34) on my laptop and, in attempting to install REAPER, I received the following error:

Unkown Error Code 100
execvp: No such file or directory

I've reported it as a bug to Fedora, but thought maybe someone here had already encountered it. Any idea what execvp is looking for and not finding?

Thanks,

Rob

Haven't seen that one that I can remember. Did you download the 64 bit Linux version and run the install script with bash?

You can just unzip the archive yourself and it will work but you won't get an icon on the menu and would have to create one yourself.

It's the x86-64/AMD64 version. I finally uninstalled, restarted and re-installed and it runs? Feels like Windows.

Not looking a gift horse in the mouth, but would like to know what changed. Thanks for the response, Glennbo. If anything occurs as to what happened, I'm all ears.

Thanks again,

Rob

Only thing I can think of is maybe you selected the folder option during the install that needs admin privileges.

I knew something about Fedora 34 was sticking in my mind, It's supposed to use Pipewire by default, instead of Pulse Audio.

I'm pretty excited about Pipewire, it's supposed to replace Pulse Audio, Jack, and connect video between apps like Jack does for audio.

Please keep us posted!

I'll probably give it a go later on in development, right now it's less intuitive to me than JACK and I'm not sure its not more answer than the question that was asked. Granted, my needs are strictly audio production, so, ymmv and all that.
