Upgrade to EZDrummer2
Hello,
Toontrack offers and aks me to uograde. Is it worth it? EZ Drummer is nice, will I still be able to keep the old Version ?
I do not need songwritin Tools, I create drums in Reaper or add Midi Groove files.
What about percussion of EZ 2 ? Is it nice ?
EZ had quite a big midi library and EZ2 is said to have a bigger one, have they added new styles, some more Percussion files ? I mean a too huge library could be confusing !-?
EZ has 16 bit uqaliy, EZ2 has 24 bit, can you perceive a better or different quality ?
What about CPU usage, EZ was very CPU friendly ?
Don´t you think it´s better to wait for Black Friday deals ?

EZ Drummer 2 is light years ahead of V1 for darned near everything. I know you said you don't need songwriting tools, but the browser and search functions alone are worth the upgrade. The 2 new kits that it comes with are great, and the percussion is quite cool, although somewhat limited. I haven't detected any seriously heightened CPU usage on it compared to V1.
I do not believe you can run V2 with V1 if you upgrade. I could be wrong about that, but I can tell you that the learning curve for EZ2 is not very steep, and you won't want to go back once you make the switch.

Hello,
thanks. That´s a mess, because that would mean some of my old projects would not sound the same in case I can not load and use V1 any more after upgrading.
Which EZX would you recommend? - I like funky, percussive style.

I don't know the answer to that.
As far as it sounding different, I truly believe it wouldn't be a bad thing. If you are truly concerned about that, I would suggest that you render out the audio from your existing projects using EZ1 and keep the MIDI for trying out with EZ2. That way, you could always go back to at least the rendered audio of EZ1 if you needed to.

I have never had any issues with projects made in EZdrummer 1 and played in version 2. The old kits are still available in version 2.

I'm in the same boat. Don't use EZ Drummer that much. So i was gonna wait and see if there was a black friday special. I think in years past Sweetwater had some toontrack black friday specials.

Multiple outputs, why toms on one out?
What I did not like, but it can be fixed.
From http://www.toontrack.com/forum/ezdru...ms-on-one-out/
"Hi.
After enabling multiple outs from EZDrummer 2 all the toms are being assgned to one out. What is the reason for that? Were they "recorded by 1 mic"?
Hi,
it's connected to the Preset. If you e.g. select the EZdrummer 1 'Pop/Rock' 'Route Out' Preset and then switch out the drums to the EZdrummer 2 Modern kit pieces you want, you have a direct out set up. This tweaked set up can be saved as a User Preset."

Hello,
have downloaded demo, what to say ?
Vers2 has a nice sound quality, but no significant improvement for me, Vers1 is still top notch for me. Vers2 has some new fx features in mixer for example flanger, creative filter, tape drive, delay, reverb, distortion, I do not need that, I have my delay plugins, reverb plugins, distortion plugins with better quality and I do prefer clean drum sounds anyway.
The rest of the new features are nice, but I do not need them urgently. Vers2 (demo!) is CPU friendly, too, by the way.
Maybe I´d buy a black-friday update deal inclunding one free EZX Expansion, you get a free expansion now only if you buy a regular version !

I don't feel it's that different from the first incarnation, but to be able to add kit pieces from different EZX is huge for me.
