Find a young, highly naturally talented (likely emotionally stunted) female vocalist in your area, write songs for her which are heavily electro beat oriented, record an album of songs, repeat for at least two or three albums, ideally one of the songs gets noticed.

Or you could join an org for $$$ which attempts to place your songs in front of such people.

Obviously you didn't notice, that we're all megastars already.

decades ago, I approached Chappell with some of my stuff & got added to their roster of writers with minimal to zero support. By sheer luck I connected with three other writers in my area and we pooled our resources and formed a band, thereby saving immensely on studio time and hiring players. We used to get a regular monthly wants list from Chappell featuring name artists looking for songs. Standouts from that era were the Drifters, Englebert Humperdinck and that actor that was in the Sweeney.

We never did sell anything much but had a lot of fun AND learned a lot.

A song I pitched to Englebert may be appearing in highly modified form on my album if I ever get the band back into the studio.

It`s about the only "formal" way I know of to achieve what you want, but it WAS a long time ago & may not be available any more. Worth banging on a few major publishing house doors though

Here's an interesting view from one particular genre.

Kris Kristofferson landed a Helicopter in Johnny Cash's yard and gave him some demo tapes. (They had met before but Johnny Cask didn't take him seriously and my have not listened to any previous demos.)

Sure is. I spent enough time in both Nashville and London to agree with everything she said. I also assume that L.A. and NYC are the same.

It`s a tough old world out there & getting tougher.

Just so you can put this in perspective, my buddy Kimberley Rew who wrote Walking on Sunshine, the last UK winner of the Eurovision sonfg contest, a Bangles hit & countless other hit records. Did I mention Celine Dion?

He nad his lovely wife are currently just having fun & putting out albums of quirky little songs that his fanbase love, but because of todays climate & his decision not to go with "management", their income from the current stuff is miniscule compared to his heyday. Frankly, if he can`t get a decent slice of money from his stuff, it doesnt hold out much hope for the rest of us.

My feeling is that I want to get my songs out in the wild & promote them as well as i CAN WITHIN MY LIMITED RESOURCES, BUT i DO NOT EXPECT TO SEE A HUGE FLOW OF INCOME, PARTICULARLY SINCE i CANT GIG AT THE MOMENT & covid IS ONCE AGAIN ON THE UPSWING IN THE uk. Oops! capslock strikes again.

Don`t let this put you off, for. It`s all down to talent and above all determination. Plus the occasional lucky break, of course.

Default go there

litterally you would have to move to LA or Nashville to get work there

you can send your portfolio to an agent/rep and see what kind of intrest you get. Theses peoples fees are 46% of your gross income

youll also need several lawyers to register/protect your copyright and licencing

BLimey! I have never paid more than 30% & in that particular case I did get my money`s worth.. Where on earth are there agencies charging 45%???

I can see that if you are an artist signed to an exclusive management deal, where the management company fronts all the money to propmote you, but not much else...

I`ll be fascinated to hear more about this.
