Default Reaper and Tascam US-1641 on new iMac?

Hello everybody!
I'm thinking of getting my first iMac ME089LL/A with Core i5 or i7 to replace my old PC windows vista.
On my old PC a combination of Tascam US-1641 interface with Reaper worked almost perfectly.
But how will it work with this new mac? Will I be able to use my old projects on a new system?
Will VSTs work (I have tons of them)?
Also will I have to buy a new license for Mac version of Reaper?
Does anybody have a similar experience? Please share it with me.
Thank you for your help.

I guess I should add that I could just get a new PC, and a transition would be much simpler ( I guess)). It's just I also do some art and graphic design and "they" say that Macs have better color reproduction. Hence all this thing with switching to mac.
Also I use some external HDs for my music and other projects. Will I have to reformat the drives for use with mac?

I see nobody ventured a reply ...
Well, I did some research on some of my questions on another forum.
But one question still remains: will I have to buy a license for Mac version of Reaper?
Thank you!

it just may be that those running the tascam us-1641 aren't using a mac.
myself, i just bought a tascam us-1641 from ebay ($164.99 seemed like a decent price for a used one). hope it gets here soon.
hoping my dell laptop with...
Processoer: intel(R) Core(TM) i3-2350M CPU @ 2.30GHz 2.30GHz
RAM: 6.00 GB
System type: 64-bit Operating System
Windows7
...will do fine recording 8 to 10 tracks simultaneously with 2 or 3 of those tracks being guitar/bass direct using amplitube.
any advice, tips or tricks on downloading/intalling drivers and setting the unit up would be great.

thanks...

Rotm, your system looks fine to me. Mine had 3GB memory and it worked great, no latency etc. I've been using us-1641 for quite some time -- got it new for about $200. It works very well. I never had any issues with it. Installation and connection is very straightforward. I personally don't know why anybody (with a home/budget studio) would pay more for other interfaces, 'cause this one does so much. But please ask your questions, would be happy to share what I know.

Saying all this, back to my original topic. No MAC users would use this tascam us-1641? Why? Is it incompatible? Too ... what?
