MIDI CC to highlighted parameter?

I have a MIDI controller that I use for some mixing functions as well as performance ones, but there's a function I would love to have. Can I assign a MIDI CC to control whatever parameter I have my mouse hovered over? Particularly inside a plugin, so I can mess with stuff in real time and record automation. How do I set this up? Thanks.

i'm not sure about hovering over a parameter, but there is a "learn" function for last touched parameter. you can access this directly from the grey "param" box in the plugin window or you can assign it to a shortcut in the action list.
