I think it would be enough if you could put correct toolbar_blank.png in your theme so other icons can share the background.
I known this may not be ideal for every icon out there, but it will look more unified out of the box without resetting up every icon.

I don't think toolbar_blank_on is being used by REAPER:
http://www.reaper.fm/sdk/walter/images.php#intro
toolbar_blank should IMHO follow color scheme of the rest of the files - Normal/Hovered/Pressed (Pressed being orange)
Also, I opened theme file now, it seems some other toolbar buttons also don't have orange background for pressed image?
I think it would be better if you didn't create those toolbar buttons with built-in background (except the ones in main toolbar, listed in previous link under toolbar_xx - they need it like that) but let REAPER append correct toolbar_blank.png on them.

I understand what you are saying. The problem is that the behavior is different if the toolbar button refers to on/off state action in reaper, or to a normal action (for example set grid to 1/4). In this last case the on position becomes the mouse pressed position. So we have to make different buttons depending if it is related to an on/ff state or not. This is a pain in the xxx...
Anyway fixing the blank button and some others...

Since default theme works that way too I guess people wouldn't mind (unless of course you want to keep it the same way...after all it's your theme )

i love this theme and am using it full time ATM. what i am really missing is a narrow MCP layout. nay plans?
the small layouts seem to only 'squash' the tracks and i'd like to be able to view a lot more at a time.
Thanks again for an awesome theme!

for now you can use the small mixer layout with multiple rows setting, as in this screenshot:

v2.2: https://stash.reaper.fm/theme/1435/Beatwing%20v2.2.zip
v2.2: small change in transport (glued display), new "no rate" transport layout (to avoid a change of rate in live situations), a bit less contrast in mixer text

Users who don't want the rate control will probably have already set that preference with the right click menu. You can pick up that setting with the trans_flags&2 variable, so you don't have to send them hunting for a different layout.

yes there is not, only dual pan/stereo pan support. Right click on pan, choose stereo pan mode and you should see the width control

No it's not only you. I think that this is caused by the extreme use of knob_stacks images that are duplicated in each layout.
Personally i found myself not using the default layout in mixer anymore, only big fader and small screen, so i coded a new 'light' theme that it's only 100 mb usage more of the reaper default theme (instead of 450 mb of the v2.2).
I can upload it to the stash if you want

Finally i got it! A huge pain but i win, the same theme but at 1/5 of the ram (now it takes only 90 mb instead of 450 of v2.2).
v2.4: https://stash.reaper.fm/theme/1436/Beatwing%20v2.4.zip

I want to love this theme but I have these graphical glitches in the mixer section (see pic attached) that are just plain ugly. Is this normal? If it is, I hope you can fix it in the next version because it really has the potential to become one of the best REAPER themes.

As i answered before, the default mixer layout is not intended to be used in a docked situation. This is why i've added the 'Small screen' layout, try it.
This is a screenshot on a macbook 15''.

Watch out, some bug/usability report!
When using time format "Measure.Beats / Minutes:Seconds" not everything fits nicely (notice the cropped [stopped]):
Btw, is there some kind of chance we'll see a bit smaller transport?
Buttons for automation (global auto, track buttons etc...) should really change color depending on their modes.
Walter seems broken for inserts/send at certain sizes:
I really hope this theme gets polished properly

Try to download again...the transport issue should be fixed. I don't see the reason to make things small in transport...there is plenty of space that we can't use for toolbars or anything, so just make things big and clear.
For the mixer issues i can't do anything, it's a problem related to the pink/yellow lines that if you stretch too much caused the image to disappear. There are some weird things in walter that force me to make weird choices, for example the background area for the track index in mixer belongs to the extmixer image...this is because if you put the folder icon over the track index background this cause it to disappear....totally no-sense for me. Maybe if walter will have some updates i can do better, we'll see.
My suggestion for now is to use screensets and save the right height inside the screenset.

I love the look of this theme and have been using it recently. There are aspects that I'm sure could be improved and I think it would be great if you could get together with White Tie to sort out any Walter issues that are causing problems

I don't have problem modding the theme to create another smaller transport layout for my personal usage, but just thought it would be nice if it were included per default

Yeah i can make a small transport layout, not now but i will.
Have you tried the updated file? Now the beats/seconds should fit in transport status in both layouts
