Default mute envelope appearing when dragging track - 5.62

I just upgraded to 5.62. Top track is armed. I record, render, and then drag the recorded material down so I can record another track in the top spot. I drag the content below the bottom track, another track appears where I've dragged the content. When I start to drag the mute envelope appears below the track. I click the envelop button, and it's set at 'visible'. I uncheck that. Same things happens the next time. This started after I once made the envelope visible, then not visible. Why does it not stay invisible?

- Reaper Preferences > Editing Behaviour > Envelope Display.
- UNCHECK the setting: "Automatically show affected envelopes.. bla bla"

That makes sense. I obviously had not looked all through the Preferences, only the right-click menu and envelope tab. Thanks.
