Default Time Selection AutoPunch Issue.

Problem: Time Selection Auto Punch Issue.
REAPER Version. 5.24-5.25

Ive been using REAPER for a very long time, was on v4xxx recently upgraded to 5.24 and this issue started. Never had this happen before.

1. Set to Time Selection Auto Punch.
2. Selected a region
3. Record audio.

Expected result: Recording does not actually start recording until it reaches the time selection.

Actual result. Recording starts outside of the time selection.

Like I was saying, I have recording over 300 tracks in REAPER before going from 4.xxx to 5.24. Never had this happen.

Here is a video, on my dropbox. https://www.dropbox.com/s/z0saw7qmi2...punch.wmv?dl=0

Any ideas?

In your video you clearly show first that you don't have "Time selection auto punch" selected as recording mode, but "Auto-punch selected items" instead, then show how it works as expected.

Solved.

Whooops!!!! I did mean Auto punch selected items. Sorry about that.

Even though I posted the wrong title, you can still see it not working.

But since you brought up time selection, I went back and set it to Time Selection. You can see it records at the selection, but when it stops it prints on top of the previous section outside of the selection. Here is that video.

Well can't replicate that either, both options work as expected in 5.25 so the issue might be linked to some other setting or your setup.

It just started out of nowhere, prob should delete the appdata files. Got a bunch of custom settings I don't want to loose though.

What are some things I could try minus going drastic and getting rid of that appdata files and wiping the slate clean? thanks

I tried a number of related settings but couldn't get it to behave like in your video, sorry.

You don't have to lose all your settings, go to Preferences > General > and Export your configuration. It creates a file you can later import back in, a good habit to export config when always when you're happy with it and change it. This way you can test if clean reinstall solves it, but note that you can also set up a "portable" REAPER installation in another location on your machine.
