Default Import Video Problem

Hi ... I'm new to this still, Just built my own computer and I do not have a graphics card, only built it for audio production, my older PC does not have a graphics card but it still allows me to import video to upload things to youtube, when I try in my new build it says ERROR reaper could not import the file, are there some compatibility issues here or import settings that I'm not seeing ?

VLC is one of the decoders REAPER can use for media, audio or video.

Make sure you get the 64-bit version for 64-bit REAPER.

"does not have a graphics card" you have integrated graphics or else you wouldn't be able to connect a screen. REAPER doesn't use GPU for video render so it's not a big problem to not have dedicated graphics card.

So Do I need to have VLC open in the background ? I just tested that I can upload music to youtube using pictures and video effects ( Stage lighting ) which plays like a video ... but still can't import video from my SSD ... SSD is to fancy ??

VLC only needs to be installed..As EpicSounds says make sure it's the correct version for your Reaper
Maybe the video format is not compatible or maybe you just are doing something wrong.

Try to play one of these videos directly in VLC player. Does this work?

please confirm it is the 64-bit VLC installed

Go to preferences> Media> video/rex/misc - "Show available decoder information"
