Default possible to lock tracks so they don't move with regions?

As far as I can tell, this isn't possible. Just making sure.

It could be great for trying out variations of one part within a section of music, without effecting other parts.

Not sure what you mean. You can lock position of items with the lock feature on the main toolbar. But regions only move horizontally and tracks only move vertically. One does not affect the other.

ah yes, I mean content within the tracks actuallly (automation and media items).

In other words, is it possible to have a media item not move with the rest of the contents of a region?

Hmm I thought it should work if you lock the items. Strange that it doesn't.

If you look in preferences under automation there should be a box
you can tick for that.
I Think!
