Default Record MIDI overdub fails to record left half of looped region

Record: MIDI overdub fails to record left half of loop

Steps to reproduce:

1. Create new track
2. Load a VSTi on track
3. Arm for recording
4. Enable monitor input so you can hear what you are playing
5. Select your MIDI keyboard as input device, and play a few notes to ensure it works
6. In the arrangement, make a loop selection (it can be anywhere, but for argument's sake we'll select the first bar from 1.1.00 to 2.1.00)
7. Select Record: MIDI overdub
8. Position cursor at start of or within loop selection
9. In transport bar, ensure Repeat (loop) is enabled
10. Hit Record button.

Initially, nothing will be recorded and no new clip will be created until the first MIDI note is received from the selected MIDI input device.

11. Now hit a few notes while the playback cursor is somewhere near the middle of the looped region. Recording will start from that point on. Because this is the first pass and you started hitting notes after the loop start point, you will see a clip that only fills the right half of the looped region, because the left-hand side of the loop hasn't been recorded yet.

12. The playback cursor reaches the loop end locator, then it jumps back to the loop start locator and...:

Expected behaviour: ... recording continues from the start of the loop onwards, with newly recorded input being added the material recorded in the previous pass (i.e. overdubbed). The previously empty left half of the loop is filled up and the MIDI clip now fills up the entire length of the clip.

Actual behaviour: ... recording only takes place between the point where recording initially started (i.e. halfway through the loop) and the end of the loop. Any MIDI notes received between the start of the loop and the initial recording start point are received but not recorded, and the resulting MIDI item only fills the right-hand side of the looped region. No matter how many times the loop is repeated, nothing is ever recorded into the first half of the loop.
