We have reached the home stretch for a very exciting update!

I still hope that the option to disable "Always remove points from underlying envelope when creating automation items" will be restored before final release.

Hi devs!

I still can´t see the improvements on the freehand tempo draw department, sorry. Point drawing seems to be tied still to quarter notes spacing, unless I´m setting up something wrong here. As it is now, it´s not really usable in most scenarios, since the basic necessity is to draw points with any grid spacing that can be shown. Regarding the improvements you have added, I couldn´t appreciate them on a rough test...

I just tested in 6/8, and tempo freehanding snaps to 8th notes. So it's taking the denominator of the time signature, which is better than where it was in previous pre.

On the other hand, devs could certainly look into Breeder's code, which does snap to gridlines (and I'm assuming they were at least partially inspired by it)...

Before going on to test with new projects, I tried the ones from pre 18 thread with RC1.

# Regions: ensure time signature remains consistent at start/end of moved regions [p=1918885]
# Tempo envelope: fix tooltip delay [p=1918452]

Seems good.

# Tempo envelope: improve freehand envelope drawing

Odd bug where 1/8 and 2/8 signatures get inserted rapidly still happening. Maybe it won't show up in projects begun in rc1...
(edit #2. still happens. appears to be incompatible with gradual sloping segments.)

# Tempo envelope: handle corner cases when removing time from project [p=1918913]

In project from that post, can now "remove contents..." without truncating. However, a previous version which is at the highlighted point in this undo history window, still gets truncated.

These were efforts to stop the bug in pre18 by ensuring things were snapped to grid at key points. Appears it did in fact make a difference. (noticing some strange things along those lines, but don't have them pinpointed. i.e. things created snapped to grid tending to 'lose their grip' in invisible ways as they get copied, etc). Project attached.

# Ruler: improve efficiency when measures are truncated [p=1918913]

In the attached project which gets truncated, this is true.

edit #1. Posted this late in pre 18 thread.

One of those cases where duplicating the region in place fails, but copying the #1 region again to produce #3 works. Then you can copy #2 to make #4, etc.

end of edit #1.

following project attachment is for issue mentioned regarding truncation during "remove contents...".

Just a quick note to confirm that I also encounter the Region bugs that FnA demonstrated above (and still in v5.65rc3).
