Default Score editor improvements

So, I spent some time in the score editor (SE),
and I must say it's quite a nice place to arrange,
especially when score output is needed.

But, not everything is perfect. Here a share some experiences, bugs, FRs and so. As usual, some might be my ignorance. In random order of importance:

1) Select next note
This is now a different action/shortcut than in midi editor(ME). Would be better if the same.

2) Track selection
I do find it hard to maintain view of wanted tracks.

For showing all midi-tracks in score, I often select all + enter.
But then any operation with Arm/solo/mute are for all,
selecting one looses track selection

Would Track selection sets for the ME/SE be a good idea?

3) Selecting note should selects track for editing (it often causes me to input notes on wrong track) ME/SE

4) I did experience some Copy bug when copying from one track to another.

5) Legato mode. I would like to have new/edit note to auto shorten other notes, when legato-mode (all monophonic instruments)

6) Step sequenzer midi input: Undo does not put edit cursor back where it was. aka extra mouse-click needed

7) Arranging for guitar is a pain.
Now, to be fair, it's a pain in Musescore as well, but
- Tab-staffs, would help very much (with xml imp/exp)

8) Adjusting note start/end adjusts pitch
When selecting a note, I want either to change pitch, or start/end, not both. (It's often a tiny space so hard to get right)

9) Edge roll out error:
- 0 lenght items is often created, creating mess (bug)

10) FR: Select, cop, cut, delete:
- From one voice to other
- From voice in staff to other voice in other staff
- Select all notes i same staff in same voice

Thanks!

1) Make a custom action that merges the two?

3) Do be aware that notation editor in Reaper is just another way to view the piano roll data, so the same actions apply here. So, set up your mouse modifiers so that double-click on a note changes the active MIDI item as well. Should work in notation view as well.

Yes, good idea. But native would be best.

Yes, in fact I was partly wrong. Selecting note start/end, is just changing length, not pitch (default)
And yes, for note there is a mouse modifier to select "Move note on one axis only"
Perfect

Which actions are you referring to?

The notation view and piano roll can use the same "Navigate: Select next note" action.

There are a few new actions that are intended for specialized purposes in the notation view, such as "Navigate: Select next note on the same staff (notation view)", but even these can be used in the piano roll too.

Yes, you're right. I must have met #3 request, selecting a note and not having the track as target.

What's the difference of:
- Navigate: Select next note
and
- Navigate: Select next note on the same staff (notation view)

The second action, similar to "...next note in the same voice" and "... next note in the same channel", simply skips the notes that aren't in the pre-selected note's staff/voice/channel.

If you are in the piano roll, you can't see the staff, but REAPER will remember which note is on which staff.

Ah, yes,
- Navigate: Select next note on the same staff (notation view)
is what I'm always after then.
I'll remap my shortcut to this one.
