Hi there.

I finally try to play with a real keyboard.
Here's the result.

I have thick, worn out fingers. Sorry

It's very cinematic.

I think it needs some visuals. Try to work together with someone who makes movies.

Default Pourquoi pas / Why not

Hi guys.

Well that's true, why bother?

Because it's basically the same tracks as on the previous one, with more or less the same articulations at work.

But I've added my two latest acquisitions, the Joshua Bell Violin and the Stradivari Cello.
I am quite happy with the result.

I hope you'll like it too.

The arrangements are quite basic, but a good start.

It is mainly diatonic and really simplistic. Lacks a bit of a melody\hook-rhythm.

Seems more like you just enjoy hearing the samples of the instruments together rather than implementing\creating something really musical.
More of a sound-scape type of composing.

Most notes are similar length without any specific pattern (hook-rhythm).

It is really basic. We could say amateurish.

And you know why.
Because I'm, "un amateur".

Thanx for the good start.

But...., what do you mean ?
...similar length...

I can see there are few difference between them. As variation as I was able to.

I mean they sound like samples one after the other.
Not really musical. More of a sound\sample tests in two three note harmonies\voicings. But we can not say it is counterpoint.

Yes, I do understand everyone has to start from somewhere as a beginner.
My point is there is really nothing to comment with regards to composition, music etc. because you have not shown any such arrangements.

The best I can say it is a form of soundscape thing. Not really music.

You're probably right, and I probably wouldn't care, if you weren't the first person in ten years to produce such a harsh critique, without the slightest regard.
If your opinion is always this strong, I feel sorry for your friends.
I don't know what you compose, or even if you compose. But it must be pretty limited in the spectrum.
I'm the first to say that all criticism is good to hear, if it's constructive. But this is "not music".
I prefer that you forget to comment on my future publications.

There is nothing really to criticise.
It sounds good, because the samples\libraries have been produced mix ready.

You could say it is cinematic, to convey a certain soundscape... I keep using this word, because it is the best to describe it.

Or let's say at best it could become a story telling music, like the music you would "see" in musicals.

* this above is an example how not to make such music

I see, it was a joke.

I could stand the first 15 seconds of each.
A bit more for "Keep this angel" which is such a good take on the beat of The Cars on Drive released 20 years earlier.
And while I wouldn't be so bold as to say it's not music, it's not the kind I can stand any longer than I already have. Here, even the landscape is not present, not even the lift.
To each his own, then.
And that reassures me about the importance I should give to your judgement.

I could have told you not to bother with him, and that' before listening to his....um....."music". You're pretty much dealing with the Village Idiot around here. Nobody takes anything he says seriously, I'm not exaggerating.

I posted a Beatles medley a little below yours. He commented, I didn't even waste my time reading what he said. I'm sure it's as non-sensical as all his other hilarious attempts at coming off like an expert....again.

Just keep making music. I like the sounds and arrangements. It's very relaxing music.

I do not make music for background.
I prefer to have tracks that when you hear them, you say: Oh, it is that guy. no matter how good or bad someone thinks they are.

I also like Enya if that is informative. With the same pleasure I enjoy Cannibal Corpse.

We are not the same.

But here we discuss jeranx's music.
I repeat, it sounds good, but it is not memorable.

Pash, this is an area to post music and collaborate. Posting opinions is fine but its not your personal critique playground, and just denouncing something as 'not music' is enough now.

Every day youre posting a critique like its fact and its gotten really, really, tedious. Saying something isnt music is beyond the pale.

Be nice and give it a rest.

Post something of your own for once, and let us all have at it.

I look at it from a different perspective.
From the first post jeranx says he is just testing new keyboard and some Berlin Orchestra strings or such.

To me it sounds like sound tests. Sounds really good, but pointless.
Not musical.
