I hear a ring at 195.2, but the really offensive bit is at 113.7?

Presuming this is flat? Sounds like acoustic coupling of some sort. Feedback, or a mic sitting on a speaker or a resonant surface - is your floor wood? Mic stand on a desk?

OR - do you have the mic on a boom stand? Make sure the back of the boom isn't touching anything, and drape something heavy over the boom. Try a straight stand.

Flat, yes. Floor is carpeted and mic is in shock-mount. What's the purpose of draping something over the boom?

Both as I upgraded but the sounds are good in both. The Tambourine comes with the Stock kits which features in both as does the cowbell etc.I first got Jamstix 2XL.Then I bought the add on Kits Bonzo and Metal kits as well later.
I might buy the Jamcussion add=on for something different,

Once you un-learn the old way of midi editing you can knock a tune out in JS in no time at all and it is fun just to play to.I play more guitar now than I have ever done

For anyone interested, I happened across this demo of an "Inspired By Texan" Epiphone, and it gives a very good example of the kind of thing I've been hearing and trying to describe. Pay particular attention to when he's playing G. The overtones or resonance or whatever it is sounds very faint at first but seems to build, until around 0:37 it jumps right out.

Use a softer plectrum<grin>

Glad I've got my old Antoria, which I got given

I'll be bold here.I think it's a badly designed guitar for recording and if replicated they have replicated the fault.
In a live Bar/Gig situation it probably wouldn't matter but of course in the quiet of recording these things can be insurmountable

Maybe so. But, the original design is responsible for what is perhaps the best known acoustic tone in popular music history, given the connection to "Yesterday." On the video, with the downgraded "Inspired By" model, it could certainly be a design issue. In my instance, I think it has more to do with the age of the instrument. That is, if I took it to my luthier he could probably fix whatever it is that's causing the problem - maybe a brace that has come loose in a spot, or something of that nature. I've pretty much come to the conclusion that owning a "vintage" guitar (acoustic anyway) is more for people with money to pay for periodic upkeep than for someone with no money to speak of that just needs a decent tone to record. I'm seriously considering a new Masterbilt AJ500M, and have done with it. Glad you Antoria is working out for you though.

It sounds like sympathetic resonance by acoustic coupling. Tap on a mic stand with a mic turned on, roll off all of the highs and listen - you get that sub-sonic tone.

I mean, it sounds like some sort of proximity effect with coupling, like an internal mic. It shouldn't be there if it isn't, and particularly if you've got the bass roll off switched on. The only thing left is the mic stand moving around or vibrating; sometimes a mic stand can be set up so that it's hyper-sensitive to a frequency because of the weight of the mic x the angle of the boom x etc. and you can get it to ring at a low pitch with volume, but I haven't encountered that with an acoustic at a distance I don't think.

You just have eliminated all other possibilities, so.... Lectern mics get that kind of noise from people holding onto the lectern as they're speaking, which is what it sounds like - a mic stand on a compliant surface.

I think you may have got a bit fixated on a minor problem Kyle.We all can from time to time.

I took your mono .wav and applied a little EQ/Comp and reverb and HAAS and it's going through one of my Master chains but I'd quite happily mix this into a song,

I think it sounds lovely

Just curious Shep - what eq settings did you use?

Having listened to you sample, there's absolutely nothing wrong with it and there's no unusual buildup. You could do a narrow cut around 170hz (abut 3dB) if you wanted to, but it's really unnecessary.

I think that a touch of compression would be more effective than EQ in this case.

Thanks jsaras - Like others have suggested, I must have been fixating.
