Last Reaper crashes with Ozone 9 (when it is inside an FX window docked)

With the reports of various Ozone versions having this problem, I've done the right-click "run as dedicated process" so that VST runs unembedded, and so far no crashes when loading, or changing presets. Running on Windows 10.

Similar problem. Accessing presets causes soft-lock (but not a full on crash) of Reaper.

This is 100% reproducible:

In an empty project:

1. Add Ozone to the master mixer
2. Open master mixer FX panel
3. Dock the panel
4. Open ozone and select any present menu

The screenshot shows a host of FX plug-ins on the master track, but I tested it with just one instance of Ozone (also soft-lock) and on an empty project as described above.

Confirmed with Ozone Elements 8 & 9 (VST & VST3) x64.

When docked and the plugin opens a dialog window (for Settings, Presets Manager, etc) the app stops responding.

Win10_x64(2004), REAPER v5.99 & REAPER 6.14+dev1003

Confirmed, too.

Ozone crashes on default when FX docked and I try to open settings for instance.

I could not reproduce easily but twice it crashed while just simply adjusting the EQ.

With "run as dedicated process" it does the same.

Hi all,

TLDR; install all the Plugins.



I send Izotope QA a repro case (empty project, dock the VST window, add Ozone, add any option and choose any preset == soft lock)

They send a kind message back saying they cannot reproduce the problem - and if I could try a fresh install:

Got a new installer, uninstalled ozone, fresh restart of windows 10.

Then installed and low and behold, the problem went away.
Docked windows no longer soft locks Reaper!

Turns out if you do a fresh EASY (!) install this problem goes away.



So I wondered and perhaps this is similar for you all - how many of us ONLY install the 64Bit VST?



Because when I uninstalled again. Then restarted and did another fresh custom install with only the 64bit VST > Ozone soft locks Reaper again when accesed from a docked window.

It could be other reasons too, as I didn't test every combo (might simply be that custom installs are causing this) but that (for now) is the workaround.

I'll keep you posted if there's a reply from Izotope on this.

Hello!

It works nice with izotope VST2 but the issue remains with izotope VST3.

Same issue than previous: when I open a window inside izotope, Reaper freezes.
