Default New material...

Finished first one from the new project. Would love some feedback! Looks like I'm heading in a Alt Rock direction on this one...

I'll Fade Away

Thanks in advance!

Really tasty Mark. Very dense sounding mix, extremely well done. Great solos.

That is a very good track - nicely mixed and produced.

Personally, I'd have a bit more of the low freqs of the bass bang on in support of the kick drum. The kick a bit more too. But, not really all that much, just a hair more low end.

Very impressed by your talent.

It rocks. Cool vocal mixing. I might steal an idea or two!

Edit - to my surprise, next tune is Andante by Coste. Played that one in high school.

Thanks RDBOIS! Low end... ah the ever elusive low-end... Btw, I downloaded the cello vst(vsti) you posted a bit ago (cellofan).. It's in that beginning part. Very nice! Thanks!

Thanks Jorgen! Coste eh.. Funny you mention that... Another Reaperian (Fictional Substance) just uploaded a beautiful classical rendition on SC. It can be heard HERE.

Dense it is
Great mix, great guitars, great arrangement.
I did find the piano in the less intense parts kind of muddy.
I listened through head phones.

Thanks Mikael! There's that word again... DENSE... Hmmm.. Maybe TOO much in the mix? I've been known to overdo a song or two in my time. The muddiness you're hearing on the piano is probably the verb. Probably too high.. Sounded good solo'd!

This is so good I got visuals all the way thru. Caused all sorts of imagery. It needs a video!

Thanks Sam! Yea - I guess a video does make sense for this one, except every time I've tried to work one up for a song, it's fallen flat. If we lived closer I'd trade you some alcohol for your help..

No alcohol would be needed...but a nice side benefit.

Everything goes better with alcohol. "What's that?? Oh, my AA meeting is starting - gotta run.."

I might take a whack at something this weekend. If anybody else feels compelled - by all means!

Concur 100% with msundh Mark, it was meant as a compliment by me also. By dense I meant there is so much there it sort of envelopes you in the song while everything in there is still clearly discernible. A testament to your mixing and production talents.

In the intense parts, keep it as is. In the other parts let it breathe.

Man! that song rocks!

I only listened to it with cheap earbuds, so I can't really comment on th mix, but it sounds GREAT!

I thoroughly enjoyed

I'll comment on the mix when I get back home...

A little different from your usual work(less hard rock) but amazing none the less. Everything is topnotch. Mix is fantastic. Everything is very clear and prestine.

cheers
