Default Midi Kick Pedal for Drum Pads

I have a Simmons drum pad that is really nice 10 pad design but it has a 1/4" jack for a kick pedal and a 1/4" jack for a high hat pedal and my pedals for my keyboards won't work with it.

What is the cheapest thing I can get that will work to have the foot pedal for at least the kick and maybe the HH also???
thanks,
cam

EDIT: I guess it's called a kick drum trigger

Default Roland

It's not exactly cheap, but I have a Roland HandSonic 10. I'm using a Roland KD-8 Kick Trigger Pad and a Pearl bass drum pedal with it. My Pearl pedal is Chinese made but is fine.

I think something like this should be relatively easy to construct. you just need a piezo trigger, or basically anything that is creating a audio signal when you hit it. there's a thread where the guy just used ordinary computer speakers. you could kick a mic, or tap a piezo or put a piezo under a pedal, or on any kid of surface you setup so that your drum pedal strikes it.

but i think what you want is to send an audio signal through your pedal. what you're getting right now is on/off commands. which i think might work for the hihat. sometimes they do, but for bass drum not.

I assume you have a main tone generating module too? You actually only mentioned the pads.

If you have a module, you can basically hook anything up. A piezo with a 1/4" plug, a sustain pedal(I've done this), I've seen individual bass drum footpedal from the Ion set on Ebay for cheap, which are 1/8" so you'd need an adapter.
