"Only Allow one fx chain window open at a time" not working

This was working fine, until all of a sudden it wasn't. I have this set, but yet now it will open multiple plugin windows on top of each other without closing the previous plugins. What could I have set to make this feature not work? It's driving me nuts.

This setting in the title only applies to "FX chain windows", not to floating plugin GUI windows.

If you prefer to see only one plugin GUI at any time, you must set them all to automatically embed in the FX chain window: Go to the FX browser, select all plugins, right-click -> Run as -> Embed bridged UI.
