Default Got graphic lags starting from Reaper 6 version

Hi,

Recently I've updated Reaper to 6 version and noticed some graphic lags. Didn't notice anything like that in 5x versions on my Mac (MacBook Pro 15). It's a slow motion lag - when I draw midi note in midi window it will appear just a second after real-time. And it's the same with plugins interface. No matter what's the version - 6.1 or 6.11 for example. The problem is still here.

Any ideas? With 5x versions it was just ok.

What display/monitor colour profile are you using? I've heard changing this to RGB generic or something can help. Might be worth a shot. You might need to restart reaper.

Hi.., I have graphics lag when only in the mixer view, when I am scrolling up and down with the apple Magic Mouse in the mixer view the mixers meters fps slows right down to almost frozen picture, and Reapers playhead completely stops in the background until the scrolling stops.., apples exaggerated scrolling I think.

Tried to change profile to RGB and nothing changed. It seems that it doesn't depend from visual part only. There's something else.

I still have huge lags on the mixer window, especially on surround sessions with minimal plugin display. That is HiDpi monitors (maxed out Mac Pro 2013 and maxed out iMac 2015). The thing that bothers me; only the mixer windows feels laggy (waaay laggy) when compared to the rest that for the most part is 100% fluid.

On this system

MacPro 5.1 12C 3,47 GHz
Sapphire Pulse 580X 8GB
macOS 10.14.6 Mojave
LG 27EA83D
Displayport Connection

I could find the following:

• Changing the color profile has an impact on GUI performance

Checking the following settings has an impact, too:

• Preferences -> General -> Advanced UI / System Tweaks -> Display-Updates
• Preferences -> Appearance -> Track Control Panels -> Meter Update Frequency

So far Reaper's GUI is as good as in LPX here with Metal, no lags - except for the Playhead not moving smoothly, but that's a known behaviour.

I have been experiencing something similar. The lag can be as much as 2 seconds. VERY frustrating. I can't tell you when it started but it feels recent. It only happens when the MCP and TCP are both visible. It's not plugin related. It's not related to a specific project. But it doesn't happen all the time, sometimes everything runs as smooth a silk, and I have absolutely no idea why.
